Summer Books Picks

Hello Beauties,
Holiday is the perfect time to get back into reading. I love to read a good book when I'm home and relaxing at terrace with my cats. A wonderful feeling hit me when I smell a new book and can't stop read it because it is so good. Here's my book picks for the holiday.

1. Message in a Bottle -Nicolas Sparks
This is not another Nicolas Sparks romantic typical novel. The story is more grown up and mature. The story is about romance after grief. Theresa Osborne, a divorced columnist finds a message in a bottle when she go jogging. The letter is for Catherine and signed by Garret. Theresa try to find Garret hope that she find someone special. The journey change her life.

2. The Tale of Desperaux - Kate DiCamillo
The main plot is about a house mouse named Desperaux. Desperaux is a house mouse  who lives in the castle. His family considered as abnormal, he has uncommon body and he loves a princess. But the unique thing about this novel is that it is not only from Desperaux point of view.It is also tells story about Miggery Sow, a girl that sold by her father and later become a maid in the castle where Desperaux lives and Chiaroscuro, a rat that lives in the dungeon of the castle. It is a light story that's suitable for children.

3. Life of Pi - Yann Martel
Life of Pi is not the easiest thing to read in my opinion. I don't know maybe because English is not my native language. Mainly the story is about Pi, when he travelled to Canada from India by boat the ship is begin to sink. Pi clings to a lifeboat and encourages a tiger Richard Parker to join him.Crew of the boat throw him into a life boat he finally leave with Zebra, Orangutan and a hyena. The story is mainly about how Pi manage to survive.

4. Of Bee and Mist - Erick Setiawan
This is a story that took place in unknown town. About Meridia, a daughter of Revanna. Being kept from the world, she met Daniel, a man who latter offer her marriage. It seems a sweet escape from her family. What Meridia don't know is that her mother in law has a secret. The story is written beautifully, not focus on the drama but the fantasy, there are ghost, spells,& magic that will take you from the real world.

5. Inferno - Dan Brown
To be honest, Inferno is the first Dan Brown book I read. I like it a lot. The story is about Robert Langdon, a Harvard professor who lost his memory for the last few days. Later he found out about what happened to himself.Against this backdrop, Langdon battles a chilling adversary and grapples with an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. Drawing from Dante’s dark epic poem, Langdon races to find answers and decide whom to trust.
